The Global GreenTrotters - FAQ and latest news

Who are the Global GreenTrotters?

The Global GreenTrotters is the devtour (development tour) part of the Blighty Foundation. The Global GreenTrotters are a group of likeminded indiviuduals whom will participate in developing a community, playing sport and educating one another on various socio-environmental subjects. Each tour will incorporate all of the following:

The Global GreenTrotters is part of the Blighty foundation. The Blighty Foundation is the non profit, sister organiasation of Blighty Creations. The Blighty foundation is a non-profit charitable organisation whilst Blighty Creations is its profit making sibling. The two in tandem will create a unique organisation which will allow us to direct 100% of donations received to those in need. All overhead costs associated with the Blighty foundation will be borne by Blighty Creations meaning donated money reaches those that need it and is not wasted on paying admin fees, salaries etc etc This unique combination means that Blighty Creations will effectively operate as a commercial operation and the Blighty Foundation as an effective social operation. The 2 companies will support and complement each other. The Blighty Creations staff will enjoy 1 day a week working entirely for the foundation doing their 'societal/community' work. This will benefit their morale and work/life happiness. In turn, the Blighty Foundation will benefit from the commercial and business expertise that the Creations employees will bring. Blighty Creations will operate on a more effective level than other commercial organisations and Blighty Foundations operate on a more effective level than other charities.

What will be the nationalities of the participents/tour members?

Global Greentrotters will be from any country of the world! Welcome. The typical Trotter will not be defined by their nationality but more by their sense of human nature and desire to make a difference whilst also having a good time and learning!

Where will the devtours (development tours) take place?

Anywhere and everywhere. Wherever we can make a difference is the simple answer to that.

What will the Trotters offer to the host nation/community?

As much as we can give. Our energy, efforts, compassion, money, expertise, graft, hard work, sense of adventure and humour. We will also try and give their sporting team a good spanking.

Are you a charity or a sporting organisation?

Both. Primarily we aim to make a postive contribution to the world. It sounds corney but there is no other way to describe it. We want to help in any way we can. We also want to play sport against our hosts. Sport is a great leveler. In brings people together over a common interest.

What percentage of my money will go to the local community and how do I know you will hand it over to the right people? (because I am worried it will get into the wrong hands)

100% of your money will go direct to the local community. The Global GreenTrotters ae a nonprofit organisation and its books and accounts will be on full display to all of its members. For the India development tour I (Chris Evans) will personally be handing the money raised to the Pastor and his wife so that they can use the funds for the good of the orphanage.

Will you be able to come to my country and help our community as well as play football?

Possibly. Please contact us and give us an outline of your project/community/sporting interest and we will see where it takes us!

I want to join you but I am working. Can I fly our for just 3 days?

Yes of course you can. We are happy to get as much help as we can. If you can come out for 3 weeks, 2 weeks, 1 week, 3 days or 1 day that will be great and you will make a real difference.
