The Blighty Foundation

An African girl with a beautiful smile The Blighty Foundation is the not for profit sister organisation of Blighty Creations.

The Blighty Foundation has two areas. Firstly, its wealth redistribution project aims to create entrepreneurs in 3rd world countries, providing them with UK products which they then sell creating income for themselves and their families. Codenamed 'Operation Robin Hood' this is an attempt to re-dress the distribution of wealth from the developed to the developing world. Read more about it here.

Secondly, there is the development tour (devtour) section. We will assemble a group of volunteers to develop an area, help a community, play some sport and donate some money. This soon to be all conquering sports team will be known as the Global GreenTrotters and you can read more about them here

The Blighty foundation is the 'not for profit' sister of Blighty Creations. Blighty Creations will donate 5% of its profit to the Blighty Foundation and all Blighty Creations staff work voluntarily for the Foundation. The two companies in tandem will create a unique organisation which will allow us to direct 100% of donations received by the public to those whom it is intended to benefit. All overhead costs associated with the Blighty foundation are to be borne by Blighty Creations - meaning donated money reaches those that need it most and is not wasted on paying administation fees, salaries etc etc.

This unique combination will hopefully increase effectiveness in both companies. The 2 companies will support and complement each other. The Blighty Creations staff will donate some of their time working for the Blighty foundation doing their 'societal/community' work. This will benefit employees morale and work/life happiness. The Blighty Foundation will benefit from the commercial and business expertise that the Creations employees will bring. As a result Blighty Creations will operate on a more effective level than other commercial organisations and the Blighty Foundation on a more effective level than other charities or non for profit organisations.

The aim is to grow organically and as Blighty Creations grows so will the foundation. To start with I will send some goods donated from Blighty Creations to 3 entrepreneurs in India. I will find meet/find these entrepreneurs when I am on the devtour with the Global GreenTrotters in September.

If you would like to support the Foundation or go on a Global GreenTrotters tour that would be much appreciated,

Thanks,

Chris Evans
